Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how QRGen handles information when you use this website, including how the browser-based QR generator and scanner work.

1. QR Generation and Scanning

QRGen creates and decodes QR codes on your device in your web browser using JavaScript. QR content, uploaded images, camera frames, and decoded results are not sent to, stored on, or accessible by our servers.

2. Anonymous Usage Telemetry (Optional)

To understand which features are popular, QRGen can record privacy-first counts such as page views, QR codes created per content type, download formats, and scan modes. These events contain no QR payloads, no images, and no raw IP addresses. Visitors are anonymized with daily rotating salted hashes. You can disable this in the admin analytics settings.

3. Contact Form Information

If you contact us, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, subject, and message. We use it to respond to your request and help operate and secure the website. Do not submit Wi-Fi passwords or other sensitive credentials through the contact form.

4. Server Log Files

Like most websites, QRGen and its hosting providers may maintain standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps, referring pages) to operate and secure the site. These logs are not used to reconstruct QR content.

5. Cookies and Advertising Technologies

QRGen may use cookies or similar technologies to remember preferences, understand site use, and support advertising. Third-party advertising providers may also use cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons to measure performance or personalize ads.

6. Your Choices

You can block cookies in your browser, use tracker-blocking extensions, or simply disconnect from the internet after the page loads. QR creation and image-based scanning keep working offline once assets are cached.
